Claudia Assef is a seasoned music journalist and editor whose career spans major Brazilian outlets like Folha de S.Paulo, where she served as an international correspondent in Paris, and O Estado de S. Paulo. Her expertise extends beyond journalism into curating flagship events such as Sónar São Paulo and Skol Beats, authoring books on music, and founding impactful initiatives like WME - Women's Music Event to promote gender equality in the industry. As coordinator of São Paulo's Galeria Olido (2019-2022), she launched the DJ Gallery, Latin America's first public space dedicated to DJ culture. A practicing DJ and music producer herself, Assef now leads the editorial direction as editor-in-chief of Billboard Brasil, a role she began in January 2025
