Carlos Arroyo
Carlos Arroyo is one of Puerto Rico’s most iconic basketball figures, celebrated both for his extraordinary career on the court and his leadership off it. Internationally, Arroyo represented Puerto Rico in multiple FIBA World Cups and Olympic Games, earning global recognition for his skill, court vision, and clutch performances, including the historic 2004 Olympic victory over the United States.
In the NBA, Arroyo enjoyed a remarkable career spanning more than a decade, playing for teams such as the Toronto Raptors, Denver Nuggets, Utah Jazz, Orlando Magic, Detroit Pistons, and Miami Heat. Known for his dynamic playmaking and leadership as a point guard, he became a symbol of Puerto Rican talent on the world’s biggest basketball stage.
Arroyo also excelled in Europe, capturing championships with elite clubs across several countries. He led Maccabi Tel Aviv to an Israeli League title, earning Finals MVP honors, won the Turkish League and Cup with Beşiktaş, added another Turkish championship with Galatasaray, and claimed the Spanish Supercup with FC Barcelona — achievements that cemented him as one of the most successful Puerto Rican players to compete on the international club level.
Transitioning to executive leadership, Arroyo now serves as the general manager of the Puerto Rico National Basketball Team, guiding the next generation of talent to compete at the highest levels internationally.
In 2025, he also became co-owner of the Vaqueros de Bayamón, leading the team to its 17th championship and solidifying his legacy as both a player and visionary leader in Puerto Rican basketball.
Beyond the hardwood, Arroyo has successfully expanded his career as a brand ambassador, partnering with international companies such as Gatorade, McDonald’s, T-Mobile, BetMGM, Kellogg’s, and Holsum — underscoring his global appeal and influence.

Adding another dimension to his career, Arroyo made his acting debut in the Apple TV+ film The Greatest Beer Run Ever, starring Zac Efron and Russell Crowe, where he portrayed Sgt. Major Pérez.
